South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have urged road users to drive carefully as wind speeds likely to reach 50 mph in Penarth today.

Earlier the Met Office released a Yellow Wind Warning, which will remain in force until 6PM today.

Grip your steering wheel tightly to keep control of your vehicle through gusts of wind and watch for gaps between trees or buildings - you're more likely to encounter side winds there!???????For vehicle safety checks????https://t.co/VWiJ8xf3yw https://t.co/MBpFxyfVYc

Coastal areas across the Southwest of the UK may be hit with 60mph wind speeds, which drops to highs of 50mph inland.

Road users in particular are advised to grip their steering wheels tightly to keep control and watch for gaps between trees or buildings through which gusts might burst.
