Egg Delivery Van Stolen in Penarth in Broad Daylight

A fully stocked van delivering eggs to Penarth was stolen yesterday from Westbourne Road.

Whilst the driver was carrying out a delivery an individual got into the van and drove away with all the produce.

The incident happened at approximately 11:30 on the 21st of November.

Cwy Hapus, an established business supplying free range eggs to local shops, bakeries, hotels and restaurants, appealed to residents on social media.

They said: ''In the last half hour our delivery van a Citroen Dispatch registration SA66 NCD has been stolen containing all our stock from Westbourne Road.''

Today they provided a further update. They stated: ''Our van is still missing but we wanted to thank everyone who shared and commented on yesterday's post for their help.

''As the van is still out there we now just wanted to do a further appeal.

''The van has a sat nav wired into the dash which is located to the right of the steering wheel. It also has a dash cam attached to the centre of the windscreen.

''So we wanted to please ask for your help again to share, firstly as a warning to other small businesses and couriers in the area particularly now in the run up to Christmas but secondly to see if any of the stock on the van could be located.

''On the van were around 150 light blue boxes of 6 with the expiry date of 16th December 2019.

''These blue boxes were in larger brown boxes. If you work in the catering industry or you are out walking this weekend and find any of these items abandoned, please contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 1900429738.

''A sobering thought for us in all this was that our son's car seat was strapped to the front of the van and on another day he could easily have been in it.

''We are a hard working rural business with a young family and that van was vital to us, we are so grateful for your help.''

Cwy Hapus want to get the message out to the local area particularly in the run up to Christmas when lots of delivery vans will be out and about.

Their farm is located in the village of Heol Y Cyw, Bridgend.
