Drunk Driver Crashes Into a Brick Wall in Penarth

Local Residents captured the moment a yellow VW crashed into a wall on Castle Avenue in Penarth before driving off without stopping.

The dramatic footage shows the car take a significant chunk out of a residential brick wall before taking a sharp turn and quickly exiting the incident.

The footage was captured by a neighbour on CCTV and has circulated on social media.

A woman was arrested later that evening by the police and charged for her reckless driving.

South Wales Police told Nub News: ''A woman has been charged following a single-vehicle collision in Castle Avenue, Penarth, on Saturday night (May 30).

''The 21-year-old from Cowbridge was arrested following the incident, which happened at around 8.30 pm, and subsequently charged with drink driving and failing to stop following an RTC.

''She has been bailed to appear at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on August 25.''
