FILMING for Doctor Who took place in Penarth earlier this week, with images of the infamous weeping angels at Roseberry Place being posted on Twitter.

The images were posted by Workbench Office, in a Tweet that read:

"Spooky goings on outside the house tonight in Penarth.

"It's daylight at 8 and a rather strange statue in the middle of the road.

"I wonder what they're filming?? Could it possibly involve a Doctor. Who knows??"

The weeping angels first appeared on screens in the 2007 episode 'Blink' written by Stephen Moffat, terrifying adults and children alike.

Sally Sparrow, played by Carey Mulligan, deciphers clues and codes left by David Tennant's Doctor to free him from the past, after the angels trapped him and companion Martha Jones.

The monsters returned in 'The Time of Angels', 'Flesh and Stone' and 'The Angels Take Manhattan', causing chaos for Matt Smith as the Doctor.

Apart from a fleeting appearance in in 2013, series 13 will be the first time the angels have appeared on-screen in roughly eight years.

Series 13 is set to premiere in 2021, so we'll have to tune in next year to catch a glimpse of the angels in Penarth. But remember – don't blink! You might miss them…
