Dinas Powys, hometown of Hannah Mills, has been abuzz since the sailor won Gold in the women's 470-class sailing at Tokyo 2020.

Hannah was the defending Olympic champion, and secured the win alongside partner Eilidh McIntyre, yesterday.

Residents of Dinas Powys have celebrated by decorating the bus stop with balloons, bunting and signs, which read: "Congratulations Hannah on winning gold in Tokyo. Dinas Powys are proud!"

The win makes Hannah the most successful female Olympic sailor of all time.

"Congratulations to Hannah Mills and sailing partner Eilidh McIntyre in winning Gold at the Tokyo Olympics in the 470-class sailing event," said the community council.

"Two Olympic Gold medals and one silver medal makes Hannah Britain's most successful female Olympic sailor.

"A massive congratulations from everyone in Dinas Powys!"

Hannah's mother Fiona spoke of being "overjoyed" and "ecstatic" after the final race.
