Andrew Road in Cogan had been closed after the police discovered ordnance at a property. They have now informed residents that part of the street that has been evacuated is allowed to return to their homes.

Anyone in properties numbered 65 and below have been told they may return home whilst those from the upper street should not return to their properties.

Members of the Cogan community have been welcomed in by Penarth leisure centre and are warming themselves up with cups of tea and coffee whilst the situation is dealt with.

Updates will continue to be provided.
