Penarth Coastguard and RNLI were called out in the early hours of Tuesday morning to help a beached vessel just off the Cardiff Bay Barrage Outer Harbour.

The boat was carrying three people and a dog when it got stuck.

The RNLI team were stood down just after 4am after it was concluded that there was insufficient water for them to reach the vessel.

The grounded 34 foot yacht was watched by coast guards until it was able to get started again in case the boat tipped at low tide.

Those on board were all confirmed safe and well.
