The Penarth Committee for Cancer Research U.K. would like to thank supporters old and new who came along to their Christmas Fair at Penarth Conservative Club on October 30th.

Supporters enjoyed a hot cuppa and mince pie and also took the chance of some retail therapy at the variety of stalls on offer.

Delicious homemade cakes and various jams, chutneys and marmalades were available and brisk trade was also done at the lucky dip parcel stall, the raffle table and the Christmas stall.

Cancer Research cards were also on sale and anyone who wasn't able to come along is reminded that a lovely range of cards is available at the Cancer Research U.K. shop in Penarth.

During the proceedings, long service awards were presented to committee members by CRUK's Legacy Manager Julie George.

Between them the current committee members have given 220 years of service ranging from an amazing 43 years to our newest member who has given eight years.

2021 also marked the 60th anniversary since the Penarth Committee was formed and during that time over a quarter of a million pounds has been raised.

This amazing result has only been possible by the generous support of everyone who attends the events organised by the committee and huge thanks are due to them.

The Christmas Fair raised £779 – thanks again to everyone who attended. We look forward to being able to organise more events in the future and hope to see you all then.
