In August family, friends and neighbours were invited to a 'Cake and a Cuppa' event in the garden of Liz Roberts in Sully.

A lovely time was had by guests on a Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. A selection of cakes was available for guests to enjoy with their cuppa and there was a stall where jams, marmalades and chutneys were available to purchase.

Plants were also on sale and there was a raffle with a good range of prizes. Thanks to the generous support of those who attended and several donations from people unable to come along on the day over £800 was raised for Cancer Research U.K.

Liz would like to thank everyone who supported the event and committee members who helped on the day and also provided some of the cakes.

New committee members are always welcome - if you live locally and would like to 'try us out' please contact us.

Contact details are available from the Cancer Research shop in Penarth or you can e-mail [email protected].
