Everyone who cares about their town has opinions about the direction that town should be going in. Penarth Nub News serves as a platform upon which you can voice those opinions.

Today, a Dinas Powys Community Councillor calls for defibrillators to be installed at local train stations.

Transport for Wales has announced plans to install defibrillators at more than 80 per cent of its stations after the high-profile use of one on Christian Eriksen during Euro 2020.

Plaid Cymru is asking that Eastbrook and Dinas Powys stations be included in this programme. Currently there are no defibrillators near either station. The nearest one to Eastbrook is at Nica, Cardiff Road.

There are a number of defibrillators in Dinas Powys but none near the railway stations. These portable devices can be real lifesavers. In the event of a heart attack they can provide an essential electric shock when it has stopped beating. If used within three minutes of a cardiac arrest it can make a massive difference to a patient.
