The cabinet of Vale of Glamorgan Council could serve up a boost to Penarth sporting facilites this afternoon (Thursday, 8 September).

Its members will debate a proposal from the government body 'Tennis in Wales' to spend up to £120,000 on tennis courts in Barry, Wenvoe and Penarth.

The full report can be viewed via this link.

The local courts are at Penarth Athletic Field.

Following the upgrade they would continue to be operated by the Council until a transfer of responsibilities is agreed with the Penarth Athletic Club.

A report to today's meeting - which will be live streamed - says the enhanced facilities should encourage greater use and sports development opportunities as well as improving the health and wellbeing of those who play.
