Bluntts Barbershop in Penarth was broken into on Sunday night with windows smashed and the property ransacked.

Local businesses contacted Nub News as they tried to get in hold with the owners of the Barbershop when they found the shopfront vandalised.

Mario, who owns the Barbershop, said: ''It would have been last night.

''They entered the premises and ransacked the reception area looking for money.

''When we locked down two weeks ago we emptied the shop of any valuable stock and equipment.''

They also addressed the break-in on social media.

They said: ''This is the last thing a small business needs now. Shop broken into. What is going through some people's minds? It will be tough enough to get through these extraordinary times as it is.''

South Wales Police are involved and have been approached for a comment.

According to Bluntts, the police have worked very quickly and efficiently in dealing with the problem despite the ongoing and busy nature of the pandemic.

Anyone who may have any information is asked to contact the store via social media.
