A resident at a Penarth home celebrated her 102nd birthday with parties surrounded by fellow residents and her family.

Nina Addy moved into MHA Morel Court in 2016 and enjoyed her birthday with two parties to mark the occasion.

The day started with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren coming to visit along with The Mayor of Penarth Melissa Rabaiotti.

Following on from that she spent the afternoon with residents and staff members and enjoyed afternoon tea, with birthday cake prepared by kitchen staff.

June Mansell, community coordinator said: "We had a great time celebrating Nina's birthday, and it was great to see her enjoying the day

"Naturally it was a lot for her, so she was tired in the afternoon, but she had a nice day.

"We reminded her in the morning it was her birthday, and she had a smile on her face which was brilliant.

"The celebrations started with a glass of bubbly and Nina was given plenty of cards and gifts.

"Having her family and the Mayor come to visit was great for her and she was very happy when the Mayor gave her flowers.

"In the afternoon we decorated one of the lounges and all the residents came there and we had afternoon tea and cake.

"It was a great day, everything was prepared by staff here at MHA Morel Court and we were all very happy to be a part of Nina's day."
