Penarth Coastguard received a callout out to numerous individuals cut off on Sully Island on Bank Holiday Monday.

They said: ''As we finished our mutual aid patrol our team was tasked to numerous people cut off by the tide at Sully Island.

''We were stood down en-route.

''You should always check the traffic light electronic tidal Informational board before you attempt to cross the causeway to Sully Island.''

The team have spent a lot of their time during lockdown helping the police to monitor public spaces and encourage and advise people on the lockdown rules.

Sully Island has been a problem for the coastguards throughout the coronavirus pandemic with over six rescues taking place so far.
