Plaid Cymru councillor Chris Franks has highlighted an increase in the number of arrests as Vale of Glamoprgan contriobutes to cutting down on anti-social behaviour on regional transport.

"We have been continuing Plaid's campaign to improve all aspects of public travel in Dinas Powys," said Cllr Franks.

"There are CCTV cameras located within Eastbrook Train Station that are managed by Transport for Wales."

British Transport Police have advised that they have been focusing on that line recently with a number of plain clothes deployments targeting any anti social behaviour. There were two positive stop searches last week.

The Vale's Community Safety Team were awarded £58,000 under Safer Streets, with some of this money going towards the upgrade of the CCTV camera at Caerleon Road and the installation of a brand new camera on the pathway leading towards Eastbrook Train Station.
