A Health Care Support Worker from Llandough Hospital filmed a special moment when Penarth's fire service team showed their appreciation for local NHS staff.

John Hicks said: ''Mutual appreciation. Penarth Fire Service called to say thank you to NHS.... and the NHS made it clear we appreciated the job they do too. A really nice moment.''

The video, which can be viewed above, shows the fire engines sounding their sirens as the staff clap in the car park of the hospital.

Those in attendance said it was a very emotional moment and we can see why.

Tonight, the general public will show their appreciation by clapping for our carers at 8 pm.
