16-Year-Old Arrested For Burglary in Penarth as Tesco's Window Smashed In

A sixteen-year-old boy has been arrested after Tesco Express in Penarth town centre had its window smashed in and stock burgled.

The large window was completely shattered but has since been boarded up. The shop was closed in the morning so that the staff could get it cleared.

Penarth Nub News contacted South Wales Police after reports came in of the damage.

A spokesperson said: "Police in Penarth are investigating a burglary at the Tesco Express store on Herbert Terrace, which occurred at around 3.15 am on Thursday, July 30.

"A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary and drug possession and has since been released under investigation.

"Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact 101, quoting occurrence 2000272115."
