Where have the Penarth 'Welcome' signs gone?

This morning, some of you eagle-eyed essential commuters were shocked to discover the disappearance of Penarth's welcome signage.

Well, never fear...

Penarth Town Council are behind this one, removing the signs from their posts in order to administer a touch of TLC.

Signs at both ends of Penarth (Cardiff side and Sully side) will return next week.

"Over the next few days our 'Welcome to Penarth" signage will be coming down for a good scrub and fresh lick of paint," said a Councils spokesperson. "Don't worry, it'll be back in a flash looking more welcoming than ever!"

This comes after a tough 2020 for the signage.

In October, the name sign at the Baron's Court junction became just one of the targets of an overnight graffiti campaign promoting Anarchist ideology.

We're looking forward to seeing them spruced up!
