"Anarchist" graffiti campaign hits Penarth

Local News by Alex Jones 1st Oct 2020

This article contains swear words and hateful phrases.

The Penarth name sign at the Baron's Court junction is just one of the targets of an overnight graffiti campaign promoting Anarchist ideology.

The activist used red spray paint to spread anti-police and anti-capitalist propaganda in various locations across the town.

"Make the rich pay for COVID-19" defaced a service building at Chandler's Quay while "Fuck Law and Order" was painted onto a wall at Cogan roundabout. The acronym ACAB, meaning "All Police Are Bastards", adorns a sign at the same spot. The Anarchist symbol invariably accompanies the slogans.

One resident described the graffiti as "disgusting" and said that it might disturb "families and joggers".

The South Wales Police have been approached for comment.
