What is the television crew at Cosmeston Lakes and the Paget Rooms filming?

You may have noticed that a large television production crew has descended on the town this week.

Trailers are stationed at the car park of Cosmeston Lakes and crew have been spotted heaving equipment into the Paget Rooms.

Although some speculated Doctor Who, Nub News can confirm that the arrivals are in fact filming scenes for the Netflix comedy-drama Sex Education.

Created by Laurie Nunn, the series follows the story of Otis Milburn, an insecure teenage who is ambivalent towards sex in spite (or perhaps because) of his mother being a sex therapist.

Much of the show takes place in school, with many indoor assembly scenes from the first two seasons being shot in the Paget Rooms.

The interior of Penarth's foremost events venue first appeared in Season One, Episode Three as the backdrop for a congregation of teachers and students before later serving as the filming location for a school dance scene.

Season Three was announced on 10 February 2020.

It appears that the crew are being housed in Bristol TV and Film Services trailers parked in Cosmeston Lakes car park.

A resident has told Nub News that she spotted actor Jim Howick (who plays Mr Hendricks in Sex Education and Gerard in Peep Show) at the lakes.

She says she also spotted the names of various other high profile cast members printed on the trailers.

Nub News is awaiting a reply from a council officer, who will on Monday dig out the fee Netflix is paying for the rooms.

We are awaiting a comment from the Vale of Glamorgan Council with regard to fees paid for setting up at Cosmeston.
