UPDATE: Photo of Armed Arrest After Firearms Incident at Penarth Redlands Road

A local resident has sent in an image of an arrest being made by armed police at Llandough Trading Estate shortly after a firearm being discharged on Redland's Road Penarth.

The image shows police pointing a gun and detaining an individual.

The police said earlier that: ''Shortly before 2.00 pm, today police in Penarth were called following reports of a firearm being discharged in the Redlands Road area.

"Two males have been taken into custody. A number of scenes have been preserved.

"Armed police officers have been deployed as a precaution. Investigations continue.

"Anyone with any information or video footage of this incident is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quote incident 675 of 13th August."

They are yet to confirm that these incidents are connected.
