The Old Custom House Reopens For Takeaway Treats

The Old Custom House in Penarth has reopened today with lots of takeaway treats and snacks on offer from their outdoor food van as well as their popular Sunday Roast available to take out over the weekend.

They announced the news on their social media and said: ''La Cerveza is officially open today. Serving hot and cold beverages, take away fish & chips, and snack boxes of the day. This is a takeaway service only.

''Please purchase your order and then enjoy it whilst continuing your walk or take it home and enjoy in the comfort of your own garden. Please follow the one-way system and 2-meter social distancing layout.''

The Opening hours will be:

Wednesday - Saturday: 10 am till 19:00 pm

Sunday: 10 am till 5 pm

  • Coffee and cakes will be served all day. Food will be served from 12:00 till 19:00.
  • * Food takeaway pick up point: After placing your order at the van, please follow the signs to the collection point.

Regarding the Sunday Lunches they explained: ''We are happy to announce we are now up & running, ready to serve to takeaway Sunday lunches (starting this week Sunday 24th May).

''We have come up with the perfect solution. Your Sunday lunch will be prepared & cooked by us, then finished at home by you.

''To order: simply call us on 02920705551 or 02920705544, telephone lines will be open for orders from 10:00 am to 19:00 pm.

''Last orders will be taken on Saturday at 5 pm each week.

''On arrival please follow the arrows to the outdoor collection point, quoting your full name given when ordered.

''Payment will be taken over the telephone, at time of order.

''We look forward to cooking for you all again.''

The popular local eatery has run into issues on Monday night with some of their outdoor furniture stolen from their garden.
