Apothecary64, the Cornerswell Road aroma shop, has received a national award just three months after opening.

Its Lavender and Rosemary Hand Sanitiser won bronze in the 2021 Free From Skincare Awards in the Hand, Foot and Nail Care category.

The shop's owner, Penarth resident Craig Parker Trott, designed the product during lockdown as a luxury and natural alternative to those currently on the market.

Like all of Apothecary64's products, it contains no artificial ingredients. It is made from lavender and rosemary essential oils, moisturising glycerin and 70% alcohol.

"I am absolutely delighted to have won a Bronze in the Skincare Awards for my Lavender and Rosemary Hand Sanitiser," Craig told Nub News. "This such a wonderful and popular product and I feel so proud to have this accolade within the skincare industry for Apothecary64.

"I have some exciting new ranges including Soap Bars and launching soon a line of 5 Unisex Eau De Parfums."

Craig's product was awarded after a rigorous selection process. After the finalists were chosen, a panel of industry experts spent a week judging their design, 'free from' credentials and general efficacy.

"Lovely hand sanitiser for travel, handbag, in the car," remarked the panel about Apothecary64's product. "Very useful product especially now during the Covid Pandemic. Light spray that rubs in quickly, strong lavender perfume. Kept it in my handbag as it is so much better for my skin than current shop/office hand sanitisers.

"Very gentle on the skin and does not dry it out. Still working well after a month and my only hand sanitiser of choice. It says it dries quickly and leaves a pleasant fresh aroma on your hands and it does. It totally delivers and makes a job that is currently a chore, a real pleasure."
