Penarth is returning to normal... events are back! Take a look at what's going on in the town in our recently revamped What's On section.

The return of the Turner House is one of the town's biggest news stories of the year. It only makes sense, then, that our event of the week is the gallery's second workshop since reopening.

Here's what the organisers have to say about it on our events page:

Join designers Gareth Strange and Sarah Burley for a hands-on workshop exploring the design process and principles behind their current exhibition: Grid Forty Five.

Learn new techniques for making and editing images, meet like-minded creative people, get your hands dirty, and work together to construct a large-scale installation in the Grid Forty Five style.

This workshop Is suitable for adults and young people aged 14 + / Materials will be provided.

  • 2:00 - 2:40 – Introduction: An introductory discussion about the inspiration for the pair's design work.
  • 2:40 – 3:00 - Tea break.
  • 3:00 – 4:00 – Photomontage: Repurpose a variety of found materials to create new collaged motifs and images.
  • 4:00 - 5:00: The Edit: Manually edit your images as a group to create a large-scale installation in the Grid Forty Five style.

A great event in an historic venue.
