Residents at MHA Ty Gwyn Care Home on Stanwell Road are delighted to receive a £500 grant from The Asda Foundation.

Neil Chadwick Community Co-ordinator at the care home applied for the grant with the assistance of the Asda Cardiff Bay Community Champion.

The grant scheme was launched as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of the grant is to help support the purchase and supply of toiletries and hygiene products for residents within the home.

Neil said: "This grant will really help us not to just support the residents we have in the home with toiletries and hygiene products but also their relatives who may be shielding or struggling to get out and about or even get items to the home for their loved ones.

"With the current situation it has been really hard for us as part of the Methodist Homes (MHA) charity to fundraise this year with our usual activities being put on hold," he added.

"Donations and grants like this make a massive difference not just to the residents but their relatives and the staff who work in the home."

Ty Gwyn have set up a JustGiving page in an attempt to raise funds for their Amenity Fund which is used to enrich the residents and support special events, activities and surprises for them to live later life well.
