Set against the stunning backdrop of Penarth Pier, the Penarth Jazz Festival returns with an outstanding programme of live music, special events and unforgettable performances celebrating the very best of jazz.
Want to hear one of Britain's finest jazz vocalists? Acclaimed singer and jazz legend, Ian Shaw, is coming to Penarth! You can even join his vocal workshop before the performance. Looking for something to get your pulse racing? The Ross Hicks Trio – performing as Los Diablos Ritmicos – will bring infectious Latin rhythms guaranteed to awaken your inner devil!
Enjoy the contemporary jazz, Latin and funk of the Mark Sambell Trio as they open the festival on Thursday, experience the power of the Capital City Jazz Orchestra, and catch the Keith Little Trio featuring the ever-popular Jane Williams. The festival also features the award-winning Jack Pearce Quintet with an eclectic blending of post-bop influences with the sound of 1990s New York swing.
Fans of great jazz vocals are especially well catered for (as if having Ian Shaw wasn't exciting enough!) with Debs Hancock paying tribute to the legendary Ladies of Jazz, while Ms. Maggie & The Cat's Pyjamas transport audiences to the glamour of a 1920s speakeasy with their vintage swing.
This festival offers even more to discover beyond musical performances, including Her Frame, Her Sound, an exhibition celebrating women in jazz through the work of leading photographers, an illustrated cinema talk, and even the chance to learn a few moves at a jazz dance class.
Best of all, our Festival Pass gives you access to the entire programme at a significant saving compared with buying tickets individually. Whether you're a lifelong jazz fan or simply looking for a fantastic week of live entertainment in a spectacular setting, Penarth Jazz Festival has something for everyone.
