If you're planning to get a train from Penarth today it is advised to check your journey as most services are severely delayed or cancelled due to flooding on the lines.

Penarth saw the arrival of Storm Dennis yesterday and with it a swathe of waterlogged pitches and high tides but today it is set to get worse with the Met Office announcing an amber rain warning for the area.
Overnight, Penarth and Wales were battered by the weather. Nearby areas have seen unprecedented flooding like the River Taff in Cardiff.

Storm Dennis is well and truly underway and with it a string of outdoor event and sporting cancellations around Penarth.
The Vale of Glamorgan council released a list of all of their owned pitches and all of those in Penarth will not be in use due to the bad weather and waterlogged pitches.

Alexandra's Enchanted Garden's opened its doors to Penarth yesterday evening but unfortunately due to the menace of Storm Dennis, the fairies will have to remain in their homes tonight.
The event organisers announced on their Facebook today: ''Hi everyone. We are sorry to say that it does look like Storm Dennis is heading our way tonight, despite our best wishes that it was tailing off, so we have decided to cancel tonight's event due to the high winds expected on health and safety grounds.

Storm Dennis might be hitting this weekend but there is still lots to enjoy in and outdoors in Penarth.

The opening date for the highly anticipated fish and chip restaurant taking its place on Penarth's Esplanade has been revealed.
Beachcliff's Traditional Fish and Chips will open their doors to customers for the first time on the 28th of February.

The Penarth Reuse Project, which encourages local residents to give away items they might have binned, has gained popularity rapidly since its launch in September last year.
With an environmental message at its core, the project consists of a Facebook groups that has been created for people who want to give, or get, items for free in Penarth.
South Wales Police are appealing for information on a teenage boy from Penarth who is wanted on suspicion of assault.
Christopher Wheatley, 19, is from Penarth but he also has connections with the Barry area.
