A new podiatry and chiropody clinic will open in Penarth, on Stanwell road, after being granted planning permission by the Vale council.

Acorn Sports Podiatry would fill a vacant site, previously occupied by Bojangles, as part of the Washington buildings on Stanwell road.

BAFTA award-winning screenwriter and twice CWA Gold Dagger nominated novelist, Matthew Hall, will be discussing his work writing both TV scripts and novels, including the TV phenomenon Keeping Faith, at a special event at the Penarth Pier Pavilion on Wednesday 27 November, 7.30 pm.

Hosted by independent bookshop, Griffin Books, the event will also include a Q&A with Matthew Hall and actor and Penarth resident, Suzanne Packer, who plays Delyth Lloyd in the TV series Keeping Faith.

Over the weekend of the Penarth Christmas light switch on local businesses became the target of criminal damage and vandalism.

Artisans corner and Coffee 1 both had their windows smashed whilst others had christmas tree planters spoilt over the busy weekend.

In recent days South Wales police have responded to reports concerning burglaries from sheds and outhouses in Penarth when clothing and other similar items have been stolen.
