A 37-year-old man was arrested in Dinas Powys in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of making threats to kill, according to South Wales Police.

A heavy police presence - comprising dogs, helicopters, negotiators and a firearms team - was able to bring about the man's arrest after a long day of disturbance yesterday.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is removing the semi-permanent parking-prevention bollards from the town centre.
