The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms on Wednesday [8 September] as the mini heatwave is set to end tomorrow.

They warn of the following eventualities occurring in Penarth:

- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings

- Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services

It comes after two days of temperatures around 25 degrees, and is in place until 9pm on Thursday evening.

The yellow rain warning covers much of southwest England and southwest Wales on Wednesday, and expanding to the whole of Wales and much of the midlands and North England the next day.
