Two local Penarth businesses have walked away as winners from the Welsh Wedding Awards 2020.

Andrea's Flower Boutique in Penarth has won Florist of the Year in the South East and Janet White-Ashby & Co. won Freelance Wedding Hair & Make-up at this year's awards ceremony.

Karren Hatton, from the ever-popular Andrea's Flower Boutique, said: "We were absolutely thrilled to bits to have won this award, it means so much to us.''

Janet White-Ashby & Co. made a statement on Facebook about their award. They said: ''Another award for our hair and makeup team. Very much a surprise, and embarrassed that I didn't have a speech ready. Thank you to all our brides for nominating and voting.''

''I cannot thank my team enough for all that they do, their support, early mornings, travelling and creating hair and makeup for all our lovely brides, who kindly nominated us for yet another award. It is good to have you all on board, I appreciate the free time they give up for our wedding fayre, photoshoots and training days thank you, thank you, thank you.''

Top wedding professionals gathered on Wednesday, February 19, at The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff to find out the champions of The 3rd Welsh Wedding Awards 2020, in an elegant ceremony, put on to acknowledge the best that the industry has to offer.

The awards recognised everyone that works hard towards creating memorable and unique weddings; from wedding planners, coordinators, specialists and caterers to photographers, videographers, florists and stationary suppliers.

The glitzy evening was hosted by the broadcaster, Polly James. She presented the awards and acknowledged those who promote excellence in the industry, inspire others by their achievements and add the fairy-tale sparkle to any wedding.
