A well known South Wales coffee business is set to open its sixth store at Penarth's old Fig Tree restaurant.

Coffi Co, which has already set up five shops in the South Wales area, has announced that its latest coffee stop will be based in Penarth's iconic seaside building.

Coffi Co's story started in 2015 when the idea was formed to start a coffee shop out of a shipping container. They wanted to bring a 21st-century twist to the historic docklands of Cardiff Bay.

After lots of planning the first Coffi Co opened its doors that summer, built from 3 Shipping Containers. They are now open in locations from Cardiff Bay and Cathays to Porthcawl and most recently Cardiff Marina.

They are well known for converting historic buildings and areas with their quirky, cool venues.

Their latest Penarth venture is set to open to the public in April 2020.

They announced the venture in a statement on Facebook. They said: ''Our brand new Coffi Co venue. We're excited to announce our newest Coffi Co location at the old 'Fig Tree' restaurant on Penarth Seafront. We cannot wait to bring the Coffi Co vibe to Penarth seafront.''

Coffi Co offers a range of over 40 drinks all expertly created by their trained Baristas as well as a range of hot and cold food options which is freshly prepared on-site.

Their luxurious hot chocolates are a firm favourite amongst customers of the existing stores and if you're looking for something a little stronger they provide a range of ales and cocktails.

All of the Coffi Co venues can be hired out and also hold a variety of events and live music throughout the year.

The shop will allow dogs which will be welcome news for the people of Penarth and the popular walking area of the esplanade.

They will also provide wifi for customers and those wanting to catch up with work over a coffee.
