The Met Office has issued Yellow weather warnings for rain in Penarth and across Wales as we head into the weekend.

Heavy rain, beginning today, will continue into Saturday and may bring transport disruption and flooding.

What to expect:

- Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings

- Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life

- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

- Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads

The Met Office predicts that the rain, heavy at times, will be accompanied by strong winds and possible coastal gales, especially on southern coastlines. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Sunday is looking cool but bright with temperatures ranging from a max of 12 °C to a minimum of 5 °C.

Their two-day weather forecast states:

Tonight - A wet and windy night for much of the country as heavy rain and strong winds persist. Coastal gales are likely in the south. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Saturday - After a very unsettled start to Saturday, the rain will gradually push southeastwards during the afternoon leaving brighter weather with sunny spells developing later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
