Two Rescues in Busy Friday Night For Penarth RNLI and Coastguard Teams

Penarth RNLI and Penarth Coastguard we're both tasked to two incidents on Friday including a suspected broken ankle and a Sully Island Rescue.

At 20:15 yesterday evening Penarth Coastguard were tasked along with Penarth RNLI to a medical evacuation from Penarth Beach.

They said: "On scene with Welsh Ambulance to casualty with suspected broken ankle.

"Casualty carried off the beach to waiting ambulance. While we were on the beach a second tasking was recieved to Sully Island."

The second incident was along to three people cutoff by a flooding tide at Sully Island causeway.

Upon arrival the RNLI lifeboat ferried the casualties to the coastguard team on the mainland.

They said: "All were safe/well & given appropriate safety advice. Units were then stood down from both incidents."
