Two Penarth residents have been named in the Queen's Jubilee Birthday Honours List 2022.

Deborah Elizabeth Rogers, deputy chief crown prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service, has been awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to Law and Order.

Marc Greenville Donovan, a chief pharmacist at Boots, has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Pharmacy.

A total of 1,134 people are named on this year's Honours List. More than half (584) are women and 13.3% come from an ethnic minority background.

Nearly 10% of recipients are disabled or have a long-term health condition and 4.6% identify as a member of the LGBT community.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: "This historic Platinum Jubilee is not only a celebration of the monarch but of the qualities she possesses.

"The honours she confers this week reflect many of those qualities that have been invaluable from all different walks of life and to communities across the UK.

"I pay tribute to all of this year's winners. Their stories of courage and compassion are an inspiration to us all."
