The Station, locally known as ''top house'', in Cogan has informed residents that they will be forced to close their doors by the 31st of July.

The family that runs the pub said: "It is with deepest regrets that we have to post this status to inform all our customers, friends and family here at the Top House that we have been informed that we have to vacate our home and livelihoods by the 31st of July.

"We have no idea what will be next for the building and are not being told much at all.

"We would just like to thank every single one of you that has made our journey here the best yet. And couldn't have asked to be part of a better community.

''We love you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts

"Love Tash, Ga, Harley and Corey"

The popular local pub has been closed over the coronavirus pandemic but had recently started up a Sunday roast takeaway service.

They had also been entertaining local residents with their Sunday sing-alongs which Nub News reported on in April.

The Station is a SA Brains pub which had announced that they would close 40 venues across Wales pre coronavirus.
