PENARTH is set to ring out with one of the most instantly recognisable sounds at this special time of year.
The Salvation Army band is preparing to perform across the town in December, spreading the love and hope for the future contained in the Christmas message.
The band's seasonal programme begins on Thursday, 11 December at 6:30pm, with a performance outside Tesco at Penarth Marina.

Two days later, on Saturday, 13 December at 10:30am the ensemble will bring carols and Christmas favourites to Windsor Road.
On Sunday, 14 December, the band will join the Community Carol Service at the Italian Gardens on the seafront, adding their uplifting music to this local tradition.
Major Jo Walters leader of The Salvation Army in Penarth said: "We are grateful to the Vale of Glamorgan Council for once again allowing us to share carols and the message of Christmas in Penarth town centre. This tradition means so much to us and it also helps us raise funds so we can continue serving the community in the way we always have."
The festive calendar continues with a performance on the morning of Saturday 20 December at Windsor Road, a special Candlelight Carol Service from 3pm on Sunday 21 December at The Salvation Army on Plassey Street and another morning performance on Christmas Eve back at Windsor Road.
Last year, the band's music reached audiences far beyond Penarth when they were filmed performing at Tesco in the Marina for a special Christmas edition of S4C's musical showcase, Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol.
