Teens in balaclavas arrested in Penarth on suspicion of robbery and possessing offensive weapon

A group of teenagers were arrested in the Cogan area of Penarth on Sunday, May 29 on suspicion of robbery and possessing an offensive weapon.

A statement from South Wales Police said: "At around 17:15 on Sunday a report was received of a group of some males in balaclavas were seen in the Dingle Road area of Cogan.

"A report was also received of a robbery. Officers attended and several 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of robbery and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

"The three 17-year-old boys were later released with no further action.

"Armed police officers were also deployed as a precaution.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
