St Augustine's Churchyard Group are running a plant and cake sale on Saturday, April 2 between 10:00 - 12:00 at St Augustine's Church in Penarth.

The group hope to raise funds to buy new tools and fuel for equipment, to help in the ongoing project to maintain and enhance the churchyard.

Church members have been growing plants all winter ready for the sale, so the organisers hope lots of people come along for some spring bargains.

The home bakers have also been busy and lots of sweet treats will be available, plus tea & coffee. Visitors can also see the daffodils and primroses currently out plus the great views over the bay.

Any extra funds raised will go to Penarth Ministry Area, which is the new name for the five Anglican churches in Penarth and Llandough.

The churchyard is managed to both look after the graves and provide a wonderful habitat for wildlife, with some areas left in a wild state for the birds, insects, small mammals and even reptiles such as slow worms.

New volunteers are always welcome to help in the churchyard with grass cutting, trimming around graves, cutting brambles and weeding.

The group meets every Tuesday afternoon between 14:00 - 16:00.
