Souper start to community venture

The launch of Soup Club Lunch took place successfully yesterday (Monday, 24 October) in Murchfield Community Centre, Dinas Powys.

Organised by Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern the aim is to provide a lovely meal at an economical price in a friendly social setting.

John Fanshaw, chair of the charity, said he was extremely pleased with the successful launch of this new venture and added: "I would like to thank all the volunteers who prepared and served the lunch.

"My particular thanks go to Judith and Wendy, our coordinators for masterminding this wonderful initiative."

Vice chair Chris Franks said that it was a very enjoyable occasion.

The Club meets every Monday at 12 noon in Murchfield Community Centre. For further information ring Wendy and Judith at DPVC on 02920 513700.
