The second house in Penarth's Christmas Advent Window Trail has been unveiled.

At Queen's Road, two windows were revealed, designed by Becca and family.

A total of 24 homes across Penarth will reveal a Christmas-themed window every day from the 1 December creating a trail for all to enjoy until 5 January 2020.

The first house is located on Stanwell Road and featured a Christmas tree made up of snowflakes and lights. It was designed by Sara Etheridge and family.

Michael Yorke helped co-ordinate the trail to provide families in Penarth with some festive fun that can be enjoying within the Coronavirus restrictions.

The idea for the trail came when Michael and his wife Jemma decided they wanted to decorate their own house to lift people's moods.

"Through the Covid lockdown, kids and parents are both getting a bit irritated indoors," said Michael.

"So, we thought we want to decorate our house for Christmas in a special way.

"'Why not get other people in involved?' we asked, so we thought of an Advent-themed trail.

"Jemma partly runs the Penarth parents Facebook group, so she posted asking if anyone was interested, and we had about 100 people respond, saying they'd love to.

"We had to pick 24 houses out of a hat. It was a great response," he said.

Over 500 people have joined the Facebook group, which was set up in November.

"It's to cheer everybody up really," said Michael.

"It allows families to walk around Penarth safely, in their own time and see the windows.

"The livestream allows people to see it from home, to show the school children who are isolating for example."
