It is a testament to Penarth's support for local business that a queue has formed from beyond the Post Office to Thompsons Butchers.

A roughly 100m long line of socially-distanced meat-eaters could be seen at 10AM this morning. It remained, though with fresh faces, at the time of writing (1PM).

This comes after the nearby David Lush Butchers on Monday reported an increase in footfall following the imposition of Level 4 COVID restrictions.

"It has made us busier. A lot of people have been changing their plans," said butcher Shaun Lush, son of owners David and Maureen Lush.

"People who might have travelled to a relative or gone to a pub are now stuck at home and need something to cook. But to be honest, it has been busy anyway."

Nub News has attempted to contact Thompsons but they are (for obvious reasons) occupied.
