This weekend, Penarth families experienced some Christmas magic as part of Wales' first Window Wanderland event.
Throughout November and December Penarth Town Council have encouraged residents and businesses to register as window-makers to create their own displays for an illuminated trail on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of Dec.
100 window makers were registered across Penarth, including local residents, businesses, school groups and Libraries.
This was an informal trail with no start or end point, so families could take part where and when they wanted in a socially distanced and safe way, and enjoy a stroll in the brisk winter air at the same time.
The officer who helped organise the event said: "We'd normally have the Christmas light switch-on, which couldn't take place this year for obvious reasons, so this project has been a way for families to come together and bring some festive cheer to the people in their community."
"The Window Wanderland project has been a great way to celebrate the resilience and creativity that the people of Penarth have shown throughout 2020. Some residents have even asked if it can become an annual event!"
Penarth Town Council would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that got involved and made this weekend so special, and to Window Wanderland CIC who provided the tools for this project to take place.
