The Repair Café Penarth is looking for more volunteers to help fix household items in the community every fourth Sunday of each month.

Organisers are particularly keen to hear from volunteers who can fix electrical items, laptops, clocks, jewellery, and clothing.

The Repair Café Penarth has been running since July 2018 and has grown in popularity. But it has proved difficult to find the right volunteers to solve every issue. "Not everyone [volunteers] can come to every session," said Sue Sugarman, one of the Repair Café Penarth organisers.

"We have so many electrical items come in, and last month we only had one electrician turn up. It's difficult when you've got a queue of people waiting."

Three main points to becoming a volunteer with the Repair Café are:

1.     You will help to stop items from going to landfill.

2.   Meet people in the Penarth community.

3.   Be part of a dedicated team.

Currently, there are 40 volunteers registered with the café.

The Repair Café Penarth meets at St Augustine's Parish Hall from 14:00 until 17:00 and the next session will be on May 22.
