Regulars of the Railway Pub in Penarth will be pleased to hear that they are re-open from tonight onwards after a month of refurbishment work.

The popular local pub is holding an event this evening to unveil their new look.

Visitors will be able to meet the new resident DJ that will take to the stage on the Lounge Side of the pub.

Disco lights also add a touch of 'party' to the atmosphere, which is likely to be warmly welcomed by Railway fans.

Any of the old TV's that used to adorn the walls have been replaced by High Definition screens just in time for the start of the Six Nations.

New floors, carpets and paint have given the traditional pub layout a modern twist.

By far one of the most exciting developments are found in the men's and women's toilets. Gone are the out of date bathrooms and in their place sit well-lit, sleek designs.

The bars have also had a well-needed refresher with new woodwork and a fresh lick of paint.

The kitchen is also now half-open so that customers can see their food prepared in front of them.

Luckily, the charm of the historic pub hasn't been lost in the renovations.

The change that is likely to cause some disruption is the swapping of location for the men and women's bathrooms after a couple of drinks.
