A quiz to raise money for a Polish refugee camp that is supporting people fleeing Ukraine will be held at Penarth Athletic Club on March 18.

The quiz will involve eight rounds of general knowledge, with some questions on topics such as music, history, and geography. There will be a break in the middle of the evening and the club's bar will also be open.

Mark Frost, 59, a deacon at Eden Church and organiser of the quiz, told Nub News: "It's a great way for people to get together and meet, but the specific reason is to support a particular refugee camp which is on the border of Poland and Ukraine.

"It's also helping people who don't know how to contribute to the whole Ukraine situation and want to make a difference. It always helps when you can create something where you can have a bit of fun at the same time, but people can also feel good about their contribution as well."

Eden Church, which shares a building with Stanwell Road Baptist Church, has set up a JustGiving page and its target is to raise £1,000. At the time of writing this article, the page raised £405. "These centres need cash much more than anything else," said Mark.

"The pastor of Stanwell Road Baptist Church has connections with a church in Åód in Poland, and because we have direct personal contact with the pastor there called Roman Baranowski, we will send the cash to them.

"The church has set up a refugee camp in the city of Åód and we'll be able to tell people on the quiz night about how the money will help there."
