Following the closure of the Paget Rooms due to the Coronavirus, Penarth Operatic and Damatic Society's production of Goodnight Mister Tom has been cancelled.

The play about a wartime evacuee was due to be staged on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.

PODS Publicity Officer Peter Knowles said, "It's massively disappointing for our cast and crew who have worked so hard over the past three months bringing Goodnight Mister Tom to life but the safety of everyone has to be the priority."

PODS are hopeful that the production can be staged later on the year once the on-going danger of the virus has passed.

Anyone who has purchased tickets is being offered a full refund. "If you have tickets that you purchased through our on-line agent Ticketsource you will receive a refund directly from them," said Peter Knowles. "If you booked tickets through the Society's Ticket Secretary please email PODS - [email protected] - stating the name your booking was in, the number of tickets booked and the date booked for and we will arrange your refund."

Peter went on to thank the public for their continuing support for PODS and for helping to keep local amateur theatre thriving.

Anyone who would like to be kept informed about a future date for Goodnight Mister Tom and other PODS productions can sign up to receive the PODS e-mail newsletters via the Society's website.
