Griffin Books on Windsor Road is gearing up to host a summer party this Friday (July 29) with three local authors.

To celebrate a successful season of events, the owner of Griffin Books, Mel Griffin, will be joined by Laura Kemp, Evonne Wareham and Helga Jensen, who will introduce their latest books.

They will also be chatting to local travel coordinator, Jo Baldwin and sharing some of their own staff recommendations for the ultimate summer read.

Guests will have the opportunity to speak to the authors, buy the books, get them signed, and sip on a complimentary glass of prosecco.

Laura Kemp, the author of Love, Betty, writes funny, feel-good but real romantic fiction. A former local and national journalist, she lives in Penarth with her family and bases her books in Wales.

Helga Jensen, the author of A Scandinavian Summer, is an award-winning British/Danish author and journalist. Her debut novel was a winning entry in the 2017 Montegrappa First Fiction competition at Dubai's Emirates Literary Festival.

Evonne Wareham, the author of A Wedding on the Riviera, is an award-winning local author of romantic suspense, with her work based more on crime and dead bodies than your average romance.

Born in Barry, she likes to set her books in Wales, or for a touch of glamorous escapism, in her favourite holiday destinations in Europe.

The party will take place in the shop on Friday, July 29, from 18:30 – 20:00.

Tickets are £5.00 and can be purchased online here
