The Penarth Tree Forum are organising a foster-a-tree scheme to help care for the new trees which have recently been planted across Penarth.

The group have been working hard to assist the VoG Council in caring for all the wonderful new trees which were planted earlier this year.

Young trees need a lot of water to survive so the group are asking for members of the community to lend a hand.

Anyone can get involved. Fostering a tree is easy, flexible and free.

The group are especially looking for volunteers for Cogan / Dingle Park and the Cliff Tops areas.

Volunteering involves watering each tree with two watering cans/buckets once per week from March to October. Later in the year volunteers will also need to check for grass encroachment.

If you would like to sign up you can email the group direct on [email protected]
