During lockdown, many of Penarth's local, small businesses have gone through changes, and now they need your support now more than ever.

Exitus Escape Room has organised a treasure hunt which will lead you around Penarth, solving clues, gathering information from local businesses and finding the hidden treasure.

Penarth's Pirate Hunt is aimed to help people reengage with their local shopping scene as well as sending proceeds to Tenovus charity.

The hunt will take place from 10 am - 5 pm from the 25th - 26th July.

The event encourages attendees to ''unleash your inner pirate to track down the lost smuggler loot, gathering information and contacting the criminal underground disguising as local shopkeepers, baristas and charity workers.

"Charities have been hit hard by COVID-19, and so every penny from ticket prices will be donated to Tenovus. Although it feels like the country has come to a standstill, Tenovus workers and volunteers have battled through to help those in need. And now they need your support.

"Please ensure while you are arranging your group and playing you are following social distancing guidelines.

"Over 16 businesses have now joined us as part of the treasure hunt, many of which have also donated prizes to our raffles, which will be held throughout the weekend."

A B Snells and Sons said: ''We are really happy to be a part of this. A fantastic idea to encourage people to support our local businesses whilst raising money for the amazing local charity Tenovus Cancer Care."
